TEREZA

Tereza a Giardino ..

Tereza and Giardino is an artistic parallel to the artist’s inner landscape. Her garden opens up a space for regeneration; it tends to the world of ideas with the promise of a harvest. Brichtová’s works record a processual development and a sustained care for a wounded soul. This is the restorative putting down of roots, the dividing and cutting of new rhizomes in the form of “cross-breeding minds.” It also reflects the careful selection of quality seeds, the extermination of pests, and records all the hard work that is necessary for a joyful mental harvest.

CV

Tereza Brichtová (1978) graduated from Professor Adéla Matasová’s Studio of Conceptual and Intermedia Tendencies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She completed an internship at Escuela Arte in Granada and, during her studies, took part in several group exhibitions. Among her key solo exhibition projects are From the Other Side at Galerie Entrance (Karlín Studios, 2011) and its reprise, From the Other Side II, at Mikulov Castle.

In the intervening period, she devoted herself to her family, worked in seclusion, and together with her brother Filip Brichta continued the research of Dobromila Brichtová. She is co-author of the visual design of the Dietrichstein Gallery and author of the visual concept of the exhibition Desire and Dignity, both for the Regional Museum in Mikulov (2019). Her works are represented in private collections as well as in the contemporary art collection of the town of Mikulov, from which the artist originates.

In 2005, she co-founded the family brand Piršč Porcelain, where she worked as art manager until 2018. She stood behind the connection between the Křehký brand and Mikulov Castle, which materialised in the festival Křehký Mikulov. She is the author of scenographic solutions for a number of projects on the boundary between art and design.

Since 2023, she has been actively creating again.
